This summer we had some of the Dallas Fire Department guys and their families over to hang out and cookout. All these guys were in the same class. Since finishing school they have all been spread out to different stations, so it was fun to see everyone and catch up!
The food and some delicious watermelon!
Charlie got to be a part of a Dallas Fire Department flash mob! The guys from Station 26 went to the Bishop Arts District in Oak Cliff and did a flash mob in honor of Dyrk Burcie. He is a little boy diagnosed with stage 4 hepatoblastoma (liver cancer) and his dad is Dallas fireman. For more information you can go to their website www.dyrkstrong.org. A couple of weeks ago Charlie took his Anatomy & Physiology course. They do the course in 2 weeks – crazy amount of information! He did great and passed, yay! The cookie cake I made him when he finished!
This week Charlie started Paramedic School (perfect timing with me being on bed rest, not!! ). So he is taking classes at UT Southwestern Monday-Friday and he will finish in January. Then it is back to a station and he will work his 24 hour on/48 hour off schedule again! We both can’t wait for him to be finished with school – I know he will do great!
