June 17, 2012 marked our 6th wedding anniversary! We decided to take a little trip down to Austin to celebrate and just getaway.
Of course we had to make a stop in Waco! We went to Spice – my favorite store in Waco. Then I made Charlie drive around campus, see all the changes and look at my old stomping grounds ![]()
We stayed in Round Rock the 1st night (to save a little money). When we got to Round Rock we had lunch at Rudy’s. We were both very impressed with the fancy thing that washes your hands – look how fancy it is! Charlie just loves me taking his picture, ha ha, so this is the best shot I got, before he started getting really annoyed, ha ha. While we were in Round Rock we had some fun at the outlet mall and I got my diaper bag from the Fossil Outlet Store!
The next morning we got up and headed into Austin. We did some shopping and had brunch at 24 Diner – it was a hip little space and the food was delish!
We then headed to S. Congress to do a little shopping. Charlie had brought one of his DFD t-shirts and wanted to trade it for an Austin Fire Department t-shirt. So our 1st stop was Station 6 on S. Congress. We got to look around there station and chat with one of the guys, it was fun!
They did not have a t-shirt in Charlie’s size at that station, but one of the guys had a shirt from Station 2 that would work, so they traded. I like this shirt!
We did some window shopping, checked out a few antique shops and went to the Big Top Candy Shop. It was really cool – they had every kind of candy that you could imagine!
Then it was on to check into our room at Lakeway Resort & Spa.
The view from our room!
We had dinner at the Oasis
On our way back to the resort, we spotted deer in someone’s yard!
The rest of the weekend we hung out by the pool, swam, and I got a prenatal massage – which was awesome!
We had a really relaxing getaway and got in some good time together before we become a family of 3! Closer to our actual anniversary we went to dinner at Truluck’s and Charlie surprised me with an Anthropologie gift card :) (even though we weren’t getting each other gifts). Charlie is a wonderful husband – I am one lucky girl! I know he is going to be a great father and can’t wait for all the adventures ahead in our marriage. I love him so much!
