Christmas 2012

I am a little behind on posting this but did not want to go without posting about Mathis’ 1st Christmas! I will keep it short & sweet!

We started the Christmas season off with pictures with Santa! We went to Bass Pro Shop because it was free to take a picture with the big guy.

He was so chill with Santa…

Then it was time for Emma to join! I snapped one shot before she lost it, ha ha. Mathis (4 months old) & Emma (8 months old)

We continued our tradition of seeing Christmas lights with the Coats!

We had our community group Christmas party at our house and Charlie dressed up like Santa! ha ha

We celebrated Christmas with Charlie’s family on the 23rd. The extended Thomas family came over during the day and that night we stayed and enjoyed time with Charlie’s parents, Grandma Dody, Sally, Cody & Levi and Andy and Jennifer.

Christmas Eve Service at C Life – celebrating JESUS the reason for the Christmas season! It was such a good service and it was so nice to have Abby home. Charlie had to work so he could not come this year.

After the Christmas Eve service we went to my parents house to open our traditional pajamas. Mathis opening his first Christmas present. Mathis & Emma in their Christmas pj’s.

After opening our pj’s we went to visit Charlie at work. This was Mathis’ first visit to the fire station.

Then Mathis and I headed home and after putting him to bed I finished wrapping presents!

I finished making Mathis’ stocking just in time to be hung up on Christmas Eve!

Christmas morning!

We started a tradition with Mathis’ Christmas gifts. Something he wants (outdoor swing), something he needs (night time cloth diaper), something he can wear (magnetic pajamas by Magnificent Baby) and something to read (B is for Baylor book)

Charlie and I just did stockings for each other this year.

We had to run outside real quick and get a picture because it was snowing!

One of my favorite pictures ever! Lauren gave me this hand-me-down outfit and I brought to my parents house just in case I wanted to put it on Mathis and I am so glad I did! He is the cutest Santa ever!!

Peace.Love.Joy. 2010

We got to spend lots of time with family this year, we had 6 Christmas’. Christmas #1 was with Charlie’s extended family (The Thomas’ – his mom’s side of the family). Unfortunately I did not take any pictures :(. Charlie’s mom has 4 other siblings so this was a pretty big gathering. It was nice to see and visit with family that lives close but we don’t get to see that often.

Christmas #2 was spent with my dad’s side of the family. We went to my aunts house. It was a lot of fun to watch the kids open their presents! I did not take enough pictures.

In between family time…Thursday after the Christmas Eve (eve) service at C Life we looked at Christmas lights with Lauren and Casey. We went to the Starbucks in Highland Park Village then around Highland Park to look at lights.

Christmas #3 was on Christmas Eve with Charlie’s immediate family (plus some close friends) at his parents house. This is the whole gang!

Andy and Jennifer got everyone these chocolate covered cherries in memory of Grandma Betty. It was so sweet!

After we left Charlie’s parents house we went to my parents house to open pj’s – a Barnett tradition. After opening our pj’s we played a little “Just Dance” on Wii. It was so much fun and a pretty good work out!

The 4th Christmas was at our house Christmas morning. It was just the two of us and it was very sweet. We just did stockings for each other this year and it was perfect!

Then it was back to my parents house for Christmas #5. We enjoyed hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls, giving presents, getting to see and talk to Abby via skype, and receiving presents.

My mom started this tradition of passing on this creepy snowman every year. Charlie and I are passing it onto Bekah this year.

My mom and I got each other almost the exact same gift, it was hilarious. But we both really needed a new beverage container, we have been sharing one for years!
