Welcome September

Can you believe September is here?!?  Time seems like it is flying!  September won’t be too crazy for us, just getting back into a routine.  An exciting thing about September is that it is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.  This is close to my heart since I am a pediatric oncology nurse and love taking care of these wonderful kids!  I love my job and feel so blessed to care for and build relationships with these kids and families.  If you want to know a little more about these kids and how you can help visit the Heroes for Children blog.  Check out this blog for some exciting ways to raise money for a cure for childhood cancer in the Dallas area.

The hospital that I work at is doing something fun for kids and families this month and I wanted to share.  Medical City Children’s Hospital is providing a FREE Teddy Bear Clinic!  This idea is so cute!  The kids can bring their favorite bear or doll to the hospital for an exam, the bear/doll will be seen by doctors, nurses, therapists, etc.  It is to help kids feel more at ease about going to the hospital and I think it is such a cute idea!  Hopefully I will be volunteering!  Click here for more information.

I hope everyone enjoys their holiday weekend.  I feel like this holiday just snuck up on me, which is good because I have nothing big planned!  Charlie and I are making it a special date weekend, I will share more about this later!

Happy September
