Baylor Homecoming 2012

Mathis and I went on a little road trip this fall to hang out with Karol Anne and Annemarie!  Mathis was 3 months old and he was such a good baby on our road trip!  We left Dallas and headed to Brownwood to meet Karol Anne and Annemarie to stay at the Glasson’s.  We stayed at Jason’s parents house that night and it was so nice to visit with his sweet mom!

The next day we headed to Waco for Baylor’s Homecoming.  We strolled around campus when we got there.  Wow, how things have changed -   from dorm neighbors in 2006 to Alumni with kids in 2012!  Can’t wait for all the fun in the future!

It was such a fun weekend with my sweet friend KA!  I can’t wait for all the many Baylor memories ahead!

Sweet Annemarie

My BFF Karol Anne had her sweet baby Annemarie and she is precious!!  Since I am so far behind on blogging I will start with her baby shower…

Charlie and I headed down to Beaumont Easter weekend for Karol Anne’s baby shower.  The shower was so beautiful – her mom, sister, and aunt did a great job!  The shower was at her mom’s house.

The rest of the weekend we enjoyed spending time with Glasson’s/Kemps – always a good time!  We also go to see see Jason & Karol Anne’s newly renovated house, which was beautiful!  It does not even look like the same house!

Then a few weeks later I got to go to Beaumont to meet miss Annemarie!!

Bringing in the New Year

To celebrate 2010 and bring in 2011 we got to spend it with The Glasson's!  We could not be more excited that they moved back to Texas, yay!!  We took a little road trip down to Beaumont.  We got to see their new house/fixer upper that they bought and we got to find out that they are having a baby girl!

On NYE we had dinner with friends and family.  Here mom made yummy gumbo and we had strawberry cake for dessert.  The strawberry cake was to surprise her cousins and let them know that she was having a girl, but it did not go as planned, ha ha.  It was so funny!

On New Year’s Day we went to the Fish Camp and Karol Anne’s made the must have New Year’s food traditions to bring good luck and economic fortune…black eyed peas, cabbage, and cornbread. 

We are so blessed to have great friends to welcome 2011!

They Call Me The Fireman…That’s My Name

After working on getting into the Dallas Fire Department for a year, Charlie got hired on!  He was very persistent, constantly staying in contact we the recruiter.  I am so proud of him and the DFD is lucky to have him!  His start date was October 6th.  This was not the most convenient time since he was teaching but he had to do what he had to do.  He gave his two weeks notice and actually one of our friends was hired on to take his teaching/coaching position.  To show Charlie how proud I was of him and to celebrate his new career I threw him a little get-together!  He enjoyed hanging out with family and his close friends, especially some of the coaches from McDonald that he will miss.

Of course I love any reason to throw a party!  I made brisket, my mom made some sides and I bought the cute cake from a friend.

The cake was so adorable!  It had a few dents after the little tumble it took in my car :(.

After every one left we got the best surprise of the night!

I was shocked when I turned around, ha ha!  I am so happy for them, they are going to be great parents to their little girl!!

Everyone had a great night and it was a great way to celebrate this exciting transition in our lives!
