Baylor Homecoming 2012

Mathis and I went on a little road trip this fall to hang out with Karol Anne and Annemarie!  Mathis was 3 months old and he was such a good baby on our road trip!  We left Dallas and headed to Brownwood to meet Karol Anne and Annemarie to stay at the Glasson’s.  We stayed at Jason’s parents house that night and it was so nice to visit with his sweet mom!

On the road with this happy boy!

The next day we headed to Waco for Baylor’s Homecoming.  We strolled around campus when we got there.  Wow, how things have changed -   from dorm neighbors in 2006 to Alumni with kids in 2012!  Can’t wait for all the fun in the future!

Summer Vacations 4

San Francisco Trip: Part 4 Independence Day In SF

158

278 Fun 4th of July hats from Karol Anne!

Our 4th of July started off with breakfast at Chloe’s.  It was a tiny restaurant but the food was really good.  We ate breakfast outside along the sidewalk.

170After breakfast we headed to our next scheduled event…Alcatraz!  We took the ferry over to Alcatraz Island and did the audio tour.  The audio tour was better than I thought it would be.  It was interesting because it was narrated by some of the guards and prisoners that were at Alcatraz.173174176

After Alcatraz we headed to Ghirardelli for a late lunch (AKA dessert)179180

On The Embarcadero, the streets were closed and were packed with people!181 After a 2 hour wait, we had dinner at The Crab House at Pier 39 and watched fireworks.  The fog rolled in right before the fireworks :(182

Since there was no public transportation due to the roads being closed, we had to make the hike back to our hotel.  That was a workout!183Day #3 in San Francisco was the day of tours!  We started of with the Downtown Double Decker Bus Tour.

Summer Vacations 3

San Francisco Trip: Part 3 San Francisco Finally!

After spending two days south of San Francisco we headed north.  We were finally in San Fran!  Our first stop was Muir Woods.  I felt like I was in a movie, everything was surreal.  It was beautiful!138146144147148150Then it was time to check into Hotel Union Square, it is a boutique hotel located on Powell St.281269We booked our entire San Francisco portion of our trip on Expedia.  This way we purchased most of our activities ahead of time.  Our first activity was the Sunset Cruise.  After we checked into the hotel, we got ready and headed to Pier 39 to start the cruise.  The cruise included drinks and heavy hor d’oeuvres (AKA our dinner).

Summer Vacations 2

San Francisco Trip: Part 2 Driving Highway 1

When we got to California we rented a car to get around.  Our favorite part of the trip was driving down Highway 1, the view was beautiful.

As we were getting near the coast, I said “oh I think I see some water!”  Ha ha, none of us were expecting to see the breathtaking views that were ahead of us.

Day 2 we drove an hour and a half down Highway 1, from Pescadero to Carmel.  Not only did we see the ocean on our way, but we also got to see a lot of produce (strawberries, lettuce, etc.) right on the coast.

53 I did not get a panoramic shot, but if you put these together, with a lot of water in between, that’s what you get!

When we got to Carmel, we stopped to eat at Forge In The Forest.  Another recommended, it was so quaint and yummy!

After lunch we did a little walking tour around the town of Carmel

The town is known for it’s little nooks and alleyways
