It was nice to be home, but I am not gonna lie I liked the hospital! ha ha. The food, the staff, the suite – everything was great! Charlie and I were lovin’ it! But we were happy to have our little family at home and try this whole “on our own” thing out. We came home Sunday August 12th. It has been a month and I can hardly remember it! So here are some pictures to refresh my memory!
Our little family of 3!

Loving the Fisher Price Rock n Play sleeper! Thanks for the recommendation Natalie – it is great! We have love it because it does not take up too much room in our little bedroom and it rocks which is nice!

My Mom (Dee Dee) gets her 1st picture with Mathis and Emma! She was a huge help when we were home – could not have done it without her! My sister Abby was in town, so she came to help – our families were such a huge help! And of course Mischika – I wake up one morning and my house is clean, laundry done and Mischika is in my kitchen making breakfast! She is such a servant and it was such a blessing for us. And my sweet BFF Karol Anne drove to Dallas from Beaumont to help us out. She was so helpful around the house and I loved getting to spend time with her
. We had so many sweet people bring us wonderful dinners. It was so nice to be taken care of.

First bath at home and his first visit to the Pediatrician – Dr. Mitchell at Forest Lane Pediatrics – we love him! His first office appointment was Wednesday August 15th. He was 5 days old and weighed 7lb 4oz and was healthy! He went back for his 2 week appointment and weighed 9lb! I was just hoping he was back up to his birth weight (7lb 12oz) ha ha.

What one of our days looked like as far as eating and diapers
Since our appointment was at Medical City we had to go see all our friends at Texas Oncology and Pediatric Day Surgery! Here is Amanda and Mathis.

That afternoon Becca Davoust came over to take his newborn pictures, she owns Southern Magnolia Photography. She did a fabulous job and lucky for us Mathis was a wonderful little newborn model – just sleeping the whole time!

He started some tummy time – so exhausting, ha ha

He is so tiny!

Lots of naps on Mom and Dad

On Friday we went to El Fenix with my family

Karol Anne came in on Sunday! Aunt KA with Mathis.

We had lots of sweet visitors! Of course I missed pictures of a lot of our visitors.
Auntie Blair meets Mathis

The Coats came to visit

Tricia and the boys

The Mentzers came to visit – Myers holding Mathis

The Tarpleys and Mathis

Mathis went on his first date at less than 2 weeks old! ha ha. We went to dinner with Pat, Jaimee and Collins to Mi Cocina. And they were both fabulous babies and slept almost the entire time.

A little gift for Charlie to show him how much we appreciate all his help and how proud we are of him. Little update on paramedic school: he just finished his 1st semester and did great! Although he is having to study a lot it is paying off, he is making good grades!

Mathis took his first nap in his crib. And we got a new monitor – which we love – so worth it!

And of course we have taken a lot of pictures of him – obsessed much?!? ha ha

How could I not be obsessed with this sweet face?!?

Mathis had his first visit to church (C Life West Campus)

Lunch date with Lauren & Sawyer at Chick-fil-A and Mathis and Oliver get to meet!

Of course we have had lots of Emma time! Sweet cousins! Running errands together, pictures taken together, naps together…

We got out the activity mat for “play” time

We went to Oddfellows for dinner with the Coats – Mathis is in his carrier (not pictured) ha ha.

This first month has flown by! He is getting so big and I am starting to notice changes everyday. God has given us such a wonderful gift and we are so thankful! Can’t wait to enjoy all the exciting days ahead.
