Mathis 12 Months Old

Sweet boy giving his monkey a kiss!  I can’t believe that Mathis is one!  This year has flown by!  We have enjoyed every bit of it and we are blessed to be his parents.  The week before he turned one he was officially walking on his own!  Look at that big one year old on the move!

After the library we went to ASI to watch Sawyer and Avery do gymnastics.  Emma and Mathis wanted to do a little playing of their own!

Trying cow’s milk for the first time, he liked it!  And he was not sure about the Chick-fil-A cow but we got a picture.

We all had a fun time swimming with The Adam’s and Coat’s.  Look at all these cuties!!

Mathis had Dayton over one day and these boys had a good time together!  They are four months apart and I know they will be good buddies one day.

We introduced him to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and he loves dancing to the intro of the show.  It is adorable to watch him dance and he will occasionally point at the TV and name off the characters, “Donald!” ha ha.  

I had a sweet moment with my baby the night before he turned one.  I nursed him for the last time, rocked him a little longer than normal and then put him to bed.  Of course after he fell asleep I had to get one more picture of him before he turned one.

We woke him up that morning with a bunch of balloons, he loved it!

We had Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Andy, Aunt Bekah, Uncle Bradley and Emma over to DeeDee and G-Bob’s for birthday breakfast.  Mathis and Uncle Bradley have the same birthday, so we celebrated both.

We played outside on the Slip N Slide with Emma then he took a morning nap.  When he got up we went to Chick-fil-A, his favorite!  He played a little more when we got home, took his afternoon nap then we went to Hawaiian Falls Waterpark with our church C Life.  It was such a fun and special day!

The next weekend we celebrated Mathis’ 1st birthday with a Pow Wow Party!  Since we were homeless, the Mentzer’s opened their home up for Mathis’s party, it was so sweet of them!

And in the beginning of September he start Parent’s Day Out at Lakeridge Academy.  This is Mathis with Miss Michalla at Meet the Teacher Night!

 

Mathis 11 Months Old

Mathis loves trips to the Dallas Zoo!  Some of his favorites are the birds and the children’s train.  He does not like feeding the giraffes – he is terrified of them! 

Loves playing at the Water Table at DeeDee and G-Bob’s!  He loves playing with the little squirt balls.  The ball is becoming one of his favorite toys!

On one of our trips to Central Market he got his first balloon and he loved it!!

He is officially crawling correctly!  He loves playing with his cousin Emma!  Here they are getting ready to head to the zoo.

We found this toy down in the street in bulky trash and it is a perfect outdoor toy.  He is practicing his walking.

Our sweet neighbor Erin saw us in the backyard one day and wanted to snap some pictures of Mathis.  She is super talented check her out here.

We were sad to leave such sweet neighbors but we were ready to move our family on to our next house.  This is Mathis’ last day at his first house and the house we brought him home from the hospital to.  Saying his goodbyes…

We moved in with DeeDee and G-Bob while we renovate the Rockwall house.  Mathis loves the vacuum so much that DeeDee bought him his first Dyson, he loves helping vacuum.  He is talking a couple steps but not officially walking on his own.  He also earned himself a Play Yard AKA “baby jail”.  He loves taking plug covers off, eating dog food and pulling plugs, so the Play Yard has come in handy at DeeDee and G-Bob’s. 

He loves sucking his thumb more than ever, especially when he is tired.  As you can see he was so tired he fell asleep sitting up.

He looks so big here!  I think it’s the angle that the picture was taken because he does not look this big in person.  This is Mathis telling us he’s one.  We started working on him showing us his “one”.  We say, “Mathis how old are you?” and occasionally he will hold up his pointer finger.  Such a big boy, can’t believe he will be one soon!
