Happy National Apron Day

That is right! Today is National Apron Day, very appropriate since it is the day after Mother's day. I am a fan of the apron! They are so fun and nostalgic. When I was at my grandparents this weekend I came across a few of my great grandmother's sweet feminine aprons, I love them!

History of the apron: they were traditionally viewed as a necessity when doing housework. Aprons became less common in the mid 1960's when cheaper clothes and washing machines came around. The Wall Street Journal claims nowadays, the apron is "enjoying a renaissance as a retro-chic fashion accessory." It is a way to really express your personality. Here are a few of my favorites...

Love the bows & ruffles...the girlier the better!

And of course you can't go wrong with Anthropologie!

I hope everyone can enjoy wearing a cute apron today!
