His Name

I saw the name Mathis as someone’s last name and thought it would make a great first name.  We wanted something unique and uncommon.  It was our top boy name.  When we actually found out that it was a boy I all of sudden was not 100% on the name, ha ha.  Charlie was sold and was going around calling him Mathis, but I would say “we are not sure yet, it could change!”  One day I decided to look up what it meant and saw that the meaning was “Gift of God”.  I loved that and it solidified the name for me.  The minute I found out I was pregnant I felt like I had been given a gift from God.  I know Mathis will be a gift that keeps on giving! 

For his middle name we went with Wylie.  This is Charlie’s middle name and he was named after his Great Uncle Wylie (his paternal Grandfathers brother).
