Pregnancy: Gender Reveal

On March 22nd we had our 18 week appointment and would be finding out the baby’s gender.  Since we were having a gender reveal party 2 days later, Charlie and I were going to wait and be surprised with our friends and family.  Neither of us felt strong one way or the other what we thought it would be, we had no clue!  All Charlie knew is that he was really wanting a boy!  The heart rate had been in the 140’s-150’s.  We went in for the sonogram, she had a look around and when it was time for her to see if she could tell the gender Charlie and I looked away.  It seemed like it only took her 1 second and she could tell.  We gave her an envelope with a card for her to circle the gender.

As soon as we left the office we went down stairs and ordered the cake from Society Bakery in Medical City Hospital.  We gave them the sealed envelope and they would make the filling either pink or blue.  We then had to wait 2 days until the gender reveal party to find out.

Finally the big day was here and we were so excited to find out the gender with some of our family & friends.

Me & Bekah – our dad insisted that we take a pic like this, haha, but it will be fun to see one day.  Mathis @18 weeks and Emma was only 11 days from her birthday!

Unfortunately, I did not get a lot of pictures with my camera.  But thanks to Karol Anne, we got a lot of video!  We are so excited that we are having a boy!  I was shocked at first – I only have sisters and it seemed like everyone around me was having girls!  Charlie was so excited that it’s a boy – as you can see from the video!  We can’t wait to meet our little boy!
