Rickerson Residence: Kitchen & Breakfast Room

This kitchen needed some much needed love!  As you can see it was mostly avocado green and yellow – it was lost in the 70’s!  We kept the same cabinets just painted them and put new knobs on them.  We made the cabinets next to the vent-a-hood glass front cabinets and I painted the inside of those cabinets green.  We textured and painted the walls.  Put up a white subway tile backsplash.  I wish we would have done a dark grout with the white subway tiles.  We put in all new appliances, farmhouse kitchen sink (from Ikea), and granite countertops.

I was wanting the subway tiles to look a little more like this…but you live and learn.  Picture found here.subway tile

We took out the double oven, extended the countertops, added shelves next to the cabinets and put the microwave under the countertop.11-17-10 029
