Charlie and I decided a few weeks before Labor day weekend, that we would make it a “date weekend.” It was fun to be creative with our dates and of course just spend time together!
We started it off Friday night with a little picnic at The Shores Park in Rockwall. On my way to work Friday morning I noticed that is just happened to be the first night of “Movie in the Park,” so we made that part of our night. They had so many games for kids and it is even fun for adults. If you are looking for something to do Friday night, you should check it out!
All the fun stuff going on! The movie screen is behind the tree. I forgot to take a picture of it during the daylight and the night picture did not turn out.
After we ate, but before the movie, we went to Tasty Treats at the Harbor for some soft serve yogurt! Yum! We took our dessert back to the park and watched the movie Imagine That.
Warning, this place is dangerous, they just let you go after it, then they make you weigh it after you have done your damage! Don’t worry mine is the one with the fruit and Charlie’s is the one with the chocolate!
Saturday night we had Charlie’s side of the family over for dinner. We missed Sally and Cody :(. We had a good time hanging out with each other!
Charlie & Andy grilling steaks!
After we went to church on Sunday, we headed to Penne Pomodoro for our favorite Breakfast Pizza!! It is so yummy! This weekend O’ fun involved a lot of eating, ha ha! Charlie is getting a little tired of the pictures, ha ha.
Then we just drove around, we went to this cool antique store in Dallas called Junkadoodle. We did not buy anything, but I am sure I will be back! They had some great stuff for a decent price.
We drove around looking at our dream craftsman style houses, so quaint!
We did not want to go home because we had plans later that evening, but we were getting sleeping, so we headed to White Rock Lake to take a little nap!
We laid our blanket down that we had in the car from movie in the park and had ourselves a nice nap!
The view from our napping spot, Downtown Dallas.
After nap time it was onto the finale of our weekend, dinner and a movie at Gold Class Cinema. This place is awesome! It is the best way to watch a movie! We arrived a little early so we were seated in the lounge. We ordered our drinks and food for the night.
Our selections:
Appetizer: Blue Cheese Potato Chips
Main Course: Wagyu Beef Burger Duo
Dessert: Assorted House Baked Cookies
All were yummy!
Practicing my photography skills!
Surprisingly still letting me take pictures of him! ha ha. Heading into the theater. Unfortunately there weren’t any good movies out :(. We saw Eat Pray Love. Charlie was not a fan, ha ha. But we did not really mind, it was all about the experience!
This is the best part! When you walk in, they ask you if you would like a pillow and a blanket, yes please! The seats are super comfy and they recline all the way back, I thought I might possibly fall asleep! They served us our dinner throughout the movie.
We definitely recommend this, it was expensive, but such a fun experience!
So that was how we celebrated our Labor day weekend! Relaxin’ together and with family, I could not have asked for a better weekend!
