Well I started to type this post on Sunday night when I got a call from parents saying that my grandmother was taken by ambulance to the ER. So I quickly rushed to Baylor’s ER Sunday night to be with my grandmother and parents. She was bleeding in her leg where they went in to place the stent and when we got to the ER her hemoglobin was 4 (very low, normal is around 12). So she was admitted to the ICU and they were talking about possibly having to do surgery. As of right now she has been moved to a regular room, the bleeding has stopped and they are working on discharge plans, yay! God is good! Please continue to pray for her health and spirit. They had to take her off of the preventative blood thinners that she was on for her stint, so pray that she continues to heal, no more bleeding, and that she would not have another heart attack. Also please pray for her spirits to be lifted. And of course please continue to pray for my mom and other family members that they have patients and strength during this time.
So we had a wonderful Christmas but a challenging one as well! My grandmother was able to be with us on Christmas day, it was so much fun to see her enjoy herself! It started off sad, I called my mom when I was about a minute away from their house Sunday morning and was told that our dog Chip had passed away. He was getting old and you could tell he was not doing well. And unfortunately he passed away Christmas morning. We miss him so much, he was such a good dog!
Okay sorry, now that we are all completely depressed, I will move onto the good parts!
Christmas Eve
Lots of baking and Charlie even helped me, we had a lot of fun!
Then off to Charlie’s parents house for dinner…
Then to Community Life Church for the Christmas Eve Service…
Back to the Rickerson’s for Presents…
Then to my parents house to open pajamas and pass on “La-“ the snowman (our new tradition.)
Then back to our house. Charlie and I did not get any gifts for each other this year since we put a lot into the house, that was our gift to each other this Christmas.
Christmas Day
We woke up Christmas morning, to snow on the roofs, yay! And we headed to my parents house…
My mom started a new tradition this year, that I love! She put verses on some of the presents and the verse was a hint to what was inside. Everyone enjoyed reading their verse and guessing the present inside.
Dad’s big gift…
Grandmother opening some gifts…
My favorite gift, my own sewing machine!!
Abby opening her gifts…
Stockings are our favorite!
Then off to Aunt Pam’s house for fun family time…
As you can see we had a very merry Christmas and I hope you did too!
